About Revolutions Archive
Revolutions Archive is a small reference site that gives short overviews of revolutions, uprisings and other turning points in world history. Each article describes the background, the main events and the legacy of an episode in a few paragraphs, so that readers can get oriented quickly and then continue with more detailed sources.
Scope
The collection covers sixty topics from 1381 to the present. It includes political revolutions, wars of independence and social movements, and also a few broad transformations that are commonly called revolutions, such as the Industrial and Digital Revolutions. Inclusion does not mean approval of any person, party or outcome.
Accuracy
The articles are summaries written for general readers. Dates, names and numbers are given in rounded or simplified form, and historians often disagree about causes and casualty figures. For study or citation, please consult scholarly books and primary sources. Each article links to a general reference page for further reading.
Using the site
The home page lets you search by keyword, filter by a range of years or by region, and sort the list. Everything runs in your browser, and the site does not require an account.
